Lesson
Speed is only one variable
RPM means revolutions per minute. There is no universal safe speed for every bit, product, and task. Follow equipment instructions and supervised training; speed does not compensate for poor pressure or positioning.
Support and direction
Support your working hand and the practice surface. Choose a compatible bit and rotation direction for the intended movement. Keep the appropriate working face aligned with the surface rather than digging an edge into it. Reposition your hands instead of forcing an awkward angle.
Heat is a signal
Friction produces heat. Do not dwell in one area or use excessive pressure. If heat, pain, or unexpected vibration occurs, stop and reassess. Start on practice material; work on people only within your competence and licensing scope.
