Lesson
Three different jobs
Cleaning removes visible soil and debris. Sanitizing reduces certain microorganisms to specified levels; it is not a substitute for required disinfection. Disinfection uses an appropriate product on a cleaned, compatible nonporous surface, following its label.
A repeatable reset
Perform hand hygiene. Discard single-use items after use. Clean reusable tools before disinfecting them, following the disinfectant’s dilution and contact time. Prepare work surfaces between clients and store processed tools to prevent recontamination.
Keep clean and used apart
Use distinct storage for clean and used tools. Phones, bottles, and drawer handles can transfer contamination back to a prepared workspace. Plan the service so you do not repeatedly touch them with contaminated hands.
